Matthias Isler · Fractional CTO

Make technical decisions with confidence.

I assess technical options against your business priorities, make costs and risks clear, and recommend a course of action you can act on.

Let’s talk about your business.

I’m Matthias Isler, fractional CTO, founder and engineer. I’ve made these decisions with my own companies at stake and led the work that followed.

Which commitment is justified?

A development proposal, rewrite, AI investment or transaction can commit the business for years. The question is what it buys, which assumptions matter and what happens if they prove wrong.

Assessment02

Investigate the decision, then recommend a course

I review the relevant architecture, code, data, delivery capability, suppliers, security or operating costs. You receive findings, significant assumptions, priorities and a clear recommendation.

For AI, the evidence includes useful output, data readiness, evaluation, human oversight and production cost. A convincing demonstration is only part of the case.

Proof03

Client work · Internal product build

Challenge the delivery model before committing

A client was considering an agency build priced for a full delivery organisation. I chose an internal route with the same scope: I owned technical decisions and led one engineer, with AI carrying most of the implementation. The venture received a working product and retained engineering capability.

Engagement04

The assignment follows the decision

Who is deciding

The assignment

Investors and acquirers

Technical Due Diligence covering assets, team, IP, dependencies and material liabilities. My founder/CTO transaction experience.

Boards

Board Advisory for investment, risk and oversight.

Founders raising capital

Funding Readiness linking the technical narrative to evidence, costs and milestones.

An assessment owns the investigation and recommendation. Implementation is a separate commission. A CTO mandate adds continuing leadership of decisions and delivery.

CTO mandates start at

CHF 3'500per month

We agree the scope individually. Focused assignments are quoted separately.

Questions05

Can you review our supplier’s recommendation?

Yes. I examine its reasoning, evidence and alternatives with the people involved. Security assessments have an explicit scope; specialist testing is commissioned where needed. A second opinion does not require a recurring mandate.

Next step06

Put the decision on the table

Tell me what is at stake and when the decision is needed.

The first conversation is free and takes 30 minutes. You leave with my view on whether I can help and how.
